Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)

Simple Minds is a Scottish band that formed in 1977 and that is still active nowadays, although their heyday was in the 1980s.

Indeed, I haven't listened to this band constantly for the past few decades. For most people, including myself, they're definitely anchored in the '80s.

Although, they were one of the most popular pop-rock bands in Europe throughout the '80s, they never really made it big in the United States with one exception: today's song, Don't You (Forget About Me). Not only was it their biggest hit in Europe, where it's considered one of the '80s "anthems" (sure, there were many), but it also became a huge hit in the U.S. – mostly because it was included in The Breakfast Club, one of the defining movies of the '80s, especially for teenagers at the time (I was one).

So, let's listen to it, shall we?

Except a few more songs from them sooner or later.
