Portishead - Glory Box
Hailing from Bristol, England, Portishead was one of the most prominent English bands of the 1990s and a leading representative of the trip hop genre.
They're still active and mostly play concerts, but they've only released three albums, the most recent of which was in 2008. In my opinion, their music doesn't age, and it's still such a wonderful listening experience.
Released in 1994 as the third single from their debut album Dummy, "Glory Box" is the song that made Portishead famous. Listening to it is the best way to discover the band.
Also, note that the singer, Beth Gibbons, has released three solo albums that are pretty good. I'll introduce you to her solo music at some point, too.
